That’s one of my favorite recent movie quotes, and it certainly lends itself well to the life of a competitive webmaster/SEO.

For about the past year, I’ve been supplementing my income by purchasing (and in some cases creating) sites for the sole purpose of later repackaging and selling at a higher price. I’ve also gotten WAY more serious lately about domaining, or SEOmaining as it’s been coined, which is a much more accurate description. I’ll save that for a future post strictly about my experiences so far with domaining.

SEO Contest Update - v7ndotcom elursrebmem

As mentioned in a previous post John Scott at V7N is hosting another SEO Contest, an idea that’s about as unoriginal and overdone as pixel advertising. As promised the keyword phrase was released on January 15th and the phrase that pays is “v7ndotcom elursrebmem”, which is “members rule” spelled backwards.

SEO Contest Controversy

Remember the “Nigritude Ultramarine” SEO contest that SearchGuild did about a year and a half ago? Basically, SearchGuild and DarkBlue came up with a totally obscure search term with no results in Google and had a contest where the SEO that ranked number one for the keyphrase a month after the contest ended won an iPod (the Player), and the SEO that ranked number one after two months won a 17″ LCD (the Stayer).
